Didn't use any,

That's pretty much what the Psyllium Husk was like Charlie.

Disgusting. Worked though.

One iron...yeah all joking aside, I'm not a huge fan of these painkillers, and the sooner I can stop taking them, the better.

Had stitches out today and start physio next week, so hoping I can pull the pin on them soon. Definitely not just yet though.

Take 2 heaped tbsp of whole (not crushed) Flax seeds, soak overnight in 10cl of water (produces a slimey mess by the morning) add this to half a glass of juice and drink with your breakfast. Now you have a superb stool softener. It's the slime that does the trick. A proven recipe from Mrs Chip Shop who uses morphine patches

Tramadol was bad for that Coffee as Scraper posted before. Didn't really realise until about 3 days post-surgery when I was trying to figure things out.

Psyllium Husk worked though. Happened again, so I've given the Oxynorm a whirl tonight. Nowhere near as spacey.

Yet.

Tramadol keeps me ticking along until I have the 6 monthly nerve root block injections in my spine.

Joe Royal, thanks good advice. Was diagnosed with DDD herniated lumbar disc years ago, this was higher up though?

I highly recommend the McKenzie Method.

For coming off it, it would seem the Trainspotting detox scene is rather apt. After 6 years, you'd have one helluva tolerance though. Wonder if they even have an effect.

Re: Tramadol - one of medicines great delights?
I've been prescribed Tramadol for the last 6 years, am not looking forward to the come down when I finally stop. However it is a step down from my original prescription of Co Codamal and Tramadol.
Not sure it got rid of the pain but I was so out of it I did not care

My first cruciate knee op was in December and then I had the party season to deal with.

Fuck me, I was spangled.

Don't mix tramadol with too much booze. You end up with three days of cold turkey.
